Lampshade fitting guide
Lampshades come with different fittings, below is a guide to our lampshades and their fittings. Our lampshades fall into one of four categories.

Clip on shades
These work with wall lights and candle bulbs, and sometimes on chandeliers, they come in both 5” and 6” sizes. Click here to see our collection
Gimbal fitting
In the UK we tend to supply smaller shades with a base diameter of 8”, 10” and 12” with this fitting. These fittings wont work with American spider/finial fitting lamps, but we can make them with a spider/finial fitting if required (depending on availability of fabric).
No shade carrier is needed and we supply these gimbal fittings with plastic reducers if your lamp has a smaller diameter UK bulb holder.
Duplex fitting
All our shades from 14” to 20" have a ‘Duplex’ fitting which simply sit on top of a shade carrier.

If you live in the USA or have a spider/finial fitting lamp (see below), it is possible to use this adapter to convert a Duplex shade and allow it to be fitted to finial/harp fitting.

Finial /Spider fitting
Finial/Spider fitting shades, shown here with a harp fitting.
Finial shades do not need a shade carrier but you will need a lamp which has a harp fitting to make it work.
Our shades are sold without the harp.
