How limiting it must be to narrow down the definition of art to traditional media such as painting, drawing or sculpture. We believe that anything can and should be considered a work of art, and adopt a flexible approach to our offering to encompass all sorts of work. For example, a collection of binga baskets mounted on the wall creates an installation-like feel, while a box-framed chapan coat pays reverence to the highly skilled craftspeople who expertly dye and weave the yarns, conjuring something so elegant for wear or display. The garments we present in frames as artworks are usually made from ikats, so the fabric is like a work of art in itself, stitched into the silhouettes and folds of traditional Uzbeki dress.
