Inspired by the Colours of Vintage Saris
This elegant collection brings together two exceptional silks—Mulberry and Tussar—each woven and dyed using traditional techniques and carefully selected for their unique character and lustre.
Mulberry silk, prized for its smooth, refined finish, is spun from cultivated silkworms and handwoven on narrow looms. The result is a luminous, even-textured fabric with a gentle sheen and a contemporary polish.
Tussar silk, by contrast, is wild-harvested and handspun from free-ranging silkworms. It has a naturally slubby texture and a soft, matte finish that lends depth and organic richness to each piece. No two lengths are exactly alike.
All silks are dyed with natural vegetable pigments, and the palette for this collection has been painstakingly developed from Nushka’s own archive of vintage saris. Each shade is the result of extensive sampling and colour-matching to ensure that the final tones reflect the quiet elegance, warmth, and depth of the original textiles.
